ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan described what peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan should look like after the signing and ratification of the peace treaty.
In a video message published on his Facebook page, the Armenian prime minister emphasized that Armenia's territory after the signing of the peace treaty should be 29,743 square kilometers. He stated that the delimitation and demarcation of the border based on the Alma-Ata Declaration should be carried out in accordance with this principle. "The issue of enclaves and exclaves must be resolved in such a way that they do not remain on either side of the border. In other words, Armenia and Azerbaijan must exchange territories in accordance with precisely defined parameters," Pashinyan continued.
Speaking about unblocking communications, the Armenian prime minister stated that all roads should be opened within the framework of the Trump Route Project (TRIPP), but not limited to it. He also clarified that transport links should operate in all directions, including through Azerbaijani territory through Armenia and through Armenia through Azerbaijan. "Furthermore, Armenia and Azerbaijan should not make any demands on each other and should leave each other alone on all issues, including those related to Karabakh (Artsakh - ed.), Gardman, Shirvan, Nakhichevan, and the so-called 'Western Azerbaijan,'" Pashinyan added. The Armenian prime minister also discussed whether he sees real opportunities for establishing peace under such conditions. "Following my conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Turkmenistan, I have the preliminary impression that such a possibility exists. We will work to implement it and bring it to life in the near future," Pashinyan concluded.
