


ArmInfo. Criminal police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs prevented a bloody showdown involving a crime boss.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, criminal police officers received a report that on January 21, 2026, a 33-year-old Yerevan resident, emphasizing his high position in the criminal hierarchy, together with two other people, beat a 36-year-old Yerevan resident in Tsaghkadzor, causing bodily harm. Following the incident, the 36-year-old man plotted to murder the 33-year-old Yerevan resident and illegally acquired a firearm for this purpose. In turn, the 33-year-old man, having learned of his intentions, also illegally acquired various firearms in order to take the life of his attacker at an opportune moment.
The conflict continued in August. A 36-year-old man, along with unidentified individuals, spotted a 33-year-old Yerevan resident near his home and drove a car at him. A shootout ensued. The collected documents were submitted to the investigative authorities. A criminal case has been opened on charges of preparing a murder, granting, obtaining, or maintaining a higher status in a criminal hierarchy, and illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition.
As part of the criminal case, evidence was obtained indicating that a 33-year-old Yerevan resident was planning to murder a 36-year-old man. However, as a result of extensive investigative measures carried out by law enforcement officials, the crime was prevented.
On October 5, by court order, searches were conducted in the homes of the 33-year-old man, his father, and his friend. Forty-nine different types of pills and three vials of methadone solution were found in his apartment. A 33-year-old man, his 54-year-old father, a 35-year-old friend, and a 36-year-old Yerevan resident were detained. The circumstances of the case are being investigated.
