


ArmInfo. A restricted-attendance meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States is taking place in the Avaza resort area.
According to Russian media, the meeting was opened by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The summit was attended by the presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Russia Vladimir Putin, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The meeting will continue later in an expanded format. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian joined the CIS leaders for the first time.
The summit agenda includes fifteen issues. At the end of the meeting, it is planned to adopt a joint statement by the heads of state, which will summarize the results of the CIS's work over the past 35 years and outline the prospects for the association.
