On October 8, a meeting was held in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia between Narek Karapetyan, head of the Strong Armenia faction, and Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the faction and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, and Mikael Mavros, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Armenia.
According to the National Assembly press service, welcoming the ambassador, Narek Karapetyan noted that Armenia and Cyprus share a centuries-old friendship. The faction leader attached great importance to expanding and strengthening bilateral cooperation and implementing new joint programs.
National Assembly Vice Speaker Aram Vardevanyan, in turn, highlighted the effective cooperation between the two peoples, noting that historical and cultural ties provide a reliable foundation for deepening interstate relations.
Meanwhile, the ambassador noted that Armenia and Cyprus enjoy close friendly relations.
During the meeting, the importance of active interaction and exchange of experience between the parliamentary friendship groups of the two countries was emphasized.
The parties exchanged views on issues related to the domestic political situation and regional security.
