ArmInfo. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan attended a gala reception dedicated to Germany's national holiday, Unity Day. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian government.
During the reception, according to the source, Grigoryan, on behalf of the Armenian government and on his own behalf, congratulated the friendly people of Germany on this significant day. Specifically, the Deputy Prime Minister recalled that Germany is one of Armenia's key trading partners and expressed confidence that joint efforts will contribute to the further deepening of mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
"The Deputy Prime Minister also highly praised Germany's support for democratic reforms and sustainable development in Armenia, which was once again confirmed by the results of the intergovernmental talks held in Berlin last October." He confirmed that Armenia attaches great importance to the further development of multilateral relations with Germany for the benefit of both friendly peoples," the ministry concluded.
It should be noted that German Unity Day is a national holiday in Germany. It is celebrated on October 3 and is the only public holiday at the federal level. It was on this day in 1990 that the GDR and East Berlin officially joined the FRG, ending more than forty years of division in the country.
