A delegation led by Hayk Babayan, Deputy Chief of Police and Commander of the Police Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, paid a working visit to Paris, where they learned about the activities of the French police and the National Gendarmerie in the field of crisis management and maintaining public order, as well as the mechanisms used and the experience of special units.
According to the press service of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, members of the delegation held meetings at the General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie of France and the Central Directorate of the Republican Security Units of the National Police.
At the mobile special unit of the National Gendarmerie, the Armenian side was presented with information about the unit's activities, technical equipment and weapons, as well as the specifics of their use.
The delegation also met with Jean-Cyril Raymond, Central Director of the Republican Security Units of the National Police.
At the Central Directorate, the delegation was presented with measures taken to ensure public safety. Security during mass events and gatherings, as well as the tactics of special units for preventing mass riots.
Uniforms, personal protective equipment, and other special equipment were also presented.
Hayk Babayan thanked his French counterpart for sending officers of the Republican Security Battalions of the French National Police to Armenia and for conducting training courses for the Ministry of Internal Affairs' security police.
During the meeting, the importance of continued cooperation and the exchange of experience was emphasized, and an agreement was reached on areas for further cooperation. The visit took place from September 28 to October 2 as part of the EU TAIEX mission.
