


ArmInfo. Cooperation programs in a number of areas, including energy, transport, and infrastructure development, were discussed at a meeting in Tehran between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the importance of constructing a second bridge on the Armenian-Iranian border, the speedy completion of the third power transmission line, and facilitating freight transport between the two countries were discussed.
In the context of discussing the full range of issues related to the development of relations between Armenia and Iran, the interlocutors emphasized the strategic nature of the relationship, which is reflected in the Armenian government's program for 2026-2031 and finds practical expression both in the dynamics of high-level dialogue and in the implementation of important programs.
The parties exchanged views on the benefits gained from the lifting of the blockade and regional transport connectivity programs. Iran's support for the Crossroads of Peace program was emphasized. Mirzoyan presented the progress of the TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) project and the new opportunities it opens for countries in the region.
The importance of continuing cooperation in public information was discussed, including in terms of appropriately countering unnecessary media speculation.
While discussing regional developments, Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia is closely monitoring the current situation, emphasizing efforts to resolve existing problems through negotiations. Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
Before the official part of the meeting, Mirzoyan expressed condolences to his Iranian counterpart on the death of his sister.
