ArmInfo. The Prosecutor's Office has identified violations in the alienation process of the Vanalich Drakhtik restaurant complex. This was stated in a statement by the RA Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the source, the Department for the Protection of State Interests of the Central Military Prosecutor's Office has verified the legality of the alienation process of the restaurant complex and the adjacent 2.56-hectare plot of land located in the Kasakh Gorge recreation area of the Ashtarak community of the Aragatsotn region. The investigation revealed that, according to the RA Minister of Defense, without a proper property valuation, the RA government's decision of March 18, 2004 permitted the alienation of state-owned buildings and structures in the recreation area by direct sale to a private individual for $500,000. Meanwhile, in 1997, the same property was valued at the same $500,000, after which the complex was expanded, built, and modernized. Moreover, approximately one year after the alienation, according to the agreement dated April 26, 2005, the liquidation value of the same property was set at 700,000 US dollars.
The investigation also revealed that, without legal or contractual grounds, the leasehold right to a 2.56-hectare plot of land was registered in the name of an individual, which subsequently served as the basis for his gratuitous acquisition of ownership rights to a plot of land with a cadastral value of 115,814,400 drams.
The prosecutor, having discovered clear signs of a crime in the exercise of his authority to protect state interests, forwarded the crime report to the Anti-Corruption Committee, where a criminal case was initiated.
The Military Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit in defense of state interests, which was accepted for consideration.
