As a result of ongoing reforms and the consistent development of crime prevention and curbside capacity, the number of registered crimes in Armenia in 2025, as well as the number of cases initiated, decreased by 3.2% compared to 2024. This was stated by RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan, speaking at the 15th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Abu Dhabi.
In his speech, cited by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ghazaryan presented the reforms carried out in the areas of crime prevention, the fight against organized crime, and internal security in the Republic of Armenia, as well as the results and trends recorded in recent years. The Deputy Minister presented the experience of establishing a specialized unit to combat cybercrime within the Criminal Police, as well as efforts to raise public awareness.
New and emerging forms of crime, economic and financial crimes, evidence-based prevention, and the responsible use of technology in the criminal justice sector were also discussed.
During his speech, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs also emphasized that, according to the World Travel Index, Armenia is included among the safest countries in the world for travel, ranking 13th out of 193 countries with a score of 90.27.
