The Armenian Parliament discussed areas of cooperation with UN Women.

On September 30, Vilen Gabrielyan, Chair of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee, and members of the committee met with Kaori Ishikawa, UN Women's representative responsible for relations with Georgia and the South Caucasus, to discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation within the UN.

According to the NA press service, during the meeting, the parties discussed the possible scope and areas of cooperation between UN Women and the Defense and Security Committee.

UN Women and the Defense and Security Committee In particular, the status of women was addressed within the framework of Armenia's Third National Program in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, Peace, and Security," as well as further steps aimed at addressing these issues. Parliamentary oversight, exchange of experience in areas under the committee's purview, gender policy, and cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest were discussed.
