Screenwriter Vahram Sahakyan has been placed under administrative supervision.

ArmInfo. Screenwriter and author Vahram Sahakyan has been placed under administrative supervision. Judge Vahagn Melikyan made the decision late last night.

Lawyer Ruben Melikyan, representing Vahram Sahakyan, reported that, according to the court's decision, Vahram Sahakyan is prohibited from posting on social media, with the exception of posts related to his professional activities and of an exclusively informational nature.

Recall that the day before, the Investigative Committee of Armenia announced the detention of screenwriter Vahram Sahakyan. He is charged with inciting hatred. According to the Investigative Committee's press service, on January 8, 2025, V.S. posted a message on his Facebook page aimed at "inciting and promoting hatred, intolerance, and hostility." The Investigative Committee noted that, according to an expert opinion received on September 1, 2026, the message contained "signs of hatred."

On September 29, the prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against V.S. under paragraph 3, part 2, Article 329 of the Criminal Code (public statements aimed at inciting or promoting hatred, intolerance, or hostility, as well as dissemination of corresponding materials using the media or information and communications technologies).

It should be noted that the maximum penalty under this article is up to four years' imprisonment. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
