As a result of the prosecutor's office's intervention, a 643-square-meter plot of land located in the Zovuni village of the Nairi community of the Kotayk region was returned to the community's ownership. This was reported in a statement by the press service of the RA Prosecutor General's Office.
Based on a petition from the Kotayk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a lease agreement concluded in significant violation of the law was terminated. The 643-square-meter plot of land, with a cadastral value of 11 million drams, was returned to the community's ownership.
As part of the criminal investigation conducted by the Investigative Committee, it was established that on September 27, 2017, Sh.S. participated in and was declared the winner of a tender for a 25-year lease of a 643-square-meter agricultural plot belonging to the community, while the other participant, A.Kh. In fact, he did not participate in the tender.
At the same time, the Kotayk Regional Prosecutor's Office received criminal case materials for discussion regarding appropriate measures to protect state interests. Following the investigation, the Kotayk Regional Prosecutor's Office, taking into account that Sh.S. was recognized as the winner of the land lease tender in significant violation of the law, submitted a petition to the head of the Nairi community requesting measures to terminate the lease agreement. Based on the petition, the lease agreement was terminated.
As a result of state registration conducted by the Cadastre Committee on September 16, 2026, the 643 square meter land plot located in the village of Zovuni was returned to the ownership of the Nairi community.
