"Hayakve" called on international partners to prevent the legitimization of anti-Armenian realities in Artsakh

The diplomatic visit to the territory of Armenian Artsakh, which took place in September at the initiative of Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan for Foreign Policy, should not be turned into an instrument of international legitimization of the anti-Armenian realities created by Azerbaijan in Artsakh, the false attribution of Armenian cultural heritage, and the disregard for the rights of the displaced Armenian population of Artsakh.

This is stated in the appeal of the national civic initiative , addressed to the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Magdalena Grono, the Ambassador of Mexico to Azerbaijan Maria Victoria Romero Caballero, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, and the department responsible for issues related to Azerbaijan in the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Expects international partners to clearly distinguish between normal diplomatic, economic, and regional cooperation with Azerbaijan and the legitimization of the policy of spiritual and cultural distortion being pursued in Artsakh. The initiative members believe that partners must express a clear position on the preservation and identity of the Armenian historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage of Artsakh and support unimpeded access for an independent international mission, including a UNESCO mission, to Artsakh to assess and document the situation with Armenian heritage.
