Robert Abisoghomonyan: Developing human capital and protecting vulnerable groups are a development priority for Armenia

ArmInfo. Human capital development and the protection of vulnerable groups are at the center of Armenia's development priorities. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia, Robert Abisoghomonyan, speaking at an event entitled "Demographic Sustainability: Investing in Human Capital for a Sustainable Future," held within the framework of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. He noted that this approach is also reflected in the Armenia Transformation Strategy 2050, the Government's Action Plan, and the 2026-2030 Program.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of the Armenia-UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2026-2030, whose priorities include strengthening social protection and demographic sustainability, decent employment, gender equality, expanding opportunities for women, and protecting vulnerable groups.

He also touched on the reforms being implemented in Armenia in the areas of social protection, education, and healthcare, aimed at improving well-being and creating opportunities for decent employment. In this context, Abisogomonyan emphasized the importance of implementing the Armenian Demographic Strategy for 2024-2040, developed with the support of the United Nations Population Fund, as a comprehensive and systemic framework for strengthening demographic sustainability.
