The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia expressed condolences to the President of Kazakhstan in connection with the loss of life during naval exercises

ArmInfo. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a telegram of condolences to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in connection with the loss of life in a tragic incident that occurred during naval exercises.

The telegram, distributed by the government press service, reads, in part: "I learned with deep sorrow of the loss of life in a tragic incident that occurred during the naval exercises of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On behalf of the Republic of Armenia and myself, I express my deepest condolences and support to you, the families and relatives of the fallen servicemen, as well as to the friendly people of Kazakhstan. In this difficult moment, we share your grief and wish you strength and fortitude. I wish a speedy recovery to the wounded serviceman and express my hope that the missing servicemen will be found as quickly and safely as possible.

As a reminder, at least 12 servicemen were killed during a Kazakh Naval exercise when they were swept into the Caspian Sea. Three more were rescued, and the search for two servicemen continues. The incident occurred on September 24 in the Mangystau region, in southwestern Kazakhstan.

Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev reported that 17 people were swept out to sea. According to him, this occurred "during a combat training mission due to a sharp deterioration in meteorological conditions and increasing winds."
