Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation: The Armenian Prime Minister`s interest in the Russian language is encouraging

ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's interest in the Russian language is truly encouraging. This was stated by Russian presidential adviser Elena Yampolskaya, according to TASS.

She noted that the Moscow House in Yerevan announced free Russian language courses this week, which will begin next week, and expressed confidence that "many Armenian citizens will want to attend them."

"Incidentally, at the end of last week, the Armenian Prime Minister made a confession about the Russian language, stating that he is currently attending Russian lessons." "Such interest is, in general, encouraging, although the statement is unexpected, given that at the last SCO summit, Nikol Pashinyan was the only CIS leader who did not speak in Russian," Yampolskaya said.

"But, apparently, he still can't get by without Russian," the presidential adviser concluded.

As a reminder, at a September 17 government meeting, Pashinyan announced that he was attending a Russian language course at the Academy of Public Administration.

On September 1, at the SCO+ summit in Bishkek, the Armenian Prime Minister spoke in Armenian for the first time at such an event. Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov later called Pashinyan's decision strange.
