The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia spoke about Armenia`s active participation in protecting cultural heritage in crisis situations.

On September 23, in New York, as part of the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisogomonyan participated in and delivered a speech at the side event "Cultural Heritage in Danger," organized by Greece and Italy. This was reported by the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the vulnerability and threats to cultural heritage during crises, particularly noting the importance of preserving the identity, origin, and historical context of cultural and religious heritage in conflict zones, as well as the effective application of international legal instruments.

Robert Abisogomonyan also spoke about Armenia's active participation in protecting heritage in crisis situations, mentioning the exchange of experience within the framework of the UNESCO initiative "Revive the Spirit of Mosul," support for the activities of the international organization "Blue Shield," and and joining the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (ALIPH) in May of this year.

Speaking about the role of new technologies, Robert Abisogomonian presented a resolution initiated by Armenia last year and unanimously adopted at the 16th meeting of the High Contracting Parties to the 1954 Hague Convention, aimed at strengthening the protection and restoration of cultural heritage through the use of new and promising technologies.
