ArmInfo. On the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, held in New York, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a series of bilateral meetings.
According to the government's press service, during a meeting with Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary General of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, the parties mentioned this year's Zayed Award ceremony for Human Fraternity and the step taken to best assess the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The interlocutors expressed confidence that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan receiving this award will give new impetus to the peace agenda between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and will contribute to progress in ensuring cooperation and stability in the region.
The parties also exchanged views on further bilateral cooperation.
During a meeting with Romanian President Nicusor Dan, Nikol Pashinyan discussed prospects for the consistent development of Armenia-Romania relations. In the context of advancing bilateral issues, the importance of organizing high-level reciprocal visits was noted, which will give new impetus to expanding and strengthening ties.
Nikol Pashinyan and Nikushor Dan exchanged views on promoting cooperation in political dialogue, economics, and culture.
Regional processes and further steps aimed at strengthening peace and stability were also discussed.
The Prime Minister of Armenia also met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The interlocutors discussed the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations and the implementation of the agreements reached.
The importance of advancing the normalization process was emphasized, and a willingness to give new impetus to relations was expressed. In this context, the parties emphasized the need for consistent efforts to stimulate trade and economic relations, establish ties between business circles, and jointly restore the historic Ani Bridge.
An exchange of views on regional issues also took place.
Nikol Pashinyan and Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing confidence that it will have a significant impact on the development of regional cooperation. In this context, the need to implement the TRIPP project and unblock regional communication routes was emphasized.
Nikol Pashinyan also met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb. The parties noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of political dialogue between the two countries, reflecting their mutual interest in further strengthening Armenia-Finland relations. Nikol Pashinyan and Alexander Stubb emphasized the significant potential for strengthening economic cooperation. In the context of realizing this potential, the importance of implementing joint, consistent steps was emphasized.
The interlocutors exchanged views on Armenia-EU relations, as well as regional processes.
During a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the interlocutors discussed the consistent development of bilateral friendly relations. The parties expressed their readiness to closely cooperate to elevate relations between Armenia and Greece to a new level. The importance of organizing high-level bilateral visits was emphasized.
Nikol Pashinyan and Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed the expansion of bilateral economic ties, as well as other topics on the bilateral agenda.
They exchanged views on Armenia-EU relations, as well as regional cooperation programs.
The Prime Minister of Armenia met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in New York. The interlocutors discussed the Armenia-EU cooperation agenda. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the EU's support for Armenia's economic diversification process and the decisions taken to that end. Nikol Pashinyan also emphasized the EU's support for the effective implementation of democratic reforms in our country. Ursula von der Leyen noted that the EU will continue to support the advancement of the Armenian government's programs and the development of cooperation in various areas. The interlocutors also touched on issues of regional significance.
