Mutually beneficial and practical cooperation on transport connectivity as an important component of the Armenia-EU strategic partnership agenda was discussed at a meeting in New York between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tsitsikostas.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The importance of Armenia's integration into regional transport networks and the development of inclusive transport connectivity, as well as the active dynamics of discussions in this area, were emphasized. Initiatives for the consistent development of cooperation in the transport and tourism sectors were discussed.
The implementation of the TRIPP project was discussed as an important component of broader geographic connectivity programs and the Republic of Armenia's "Crossroads of the World" program.
Mirzoyan and Tsitsikostas exchanged views on cooperation between Armenia and the EU in the aviation sector.
