A mixed martial arts tournament will be held in Armenia on September 26.

ArmInfo. A major international mixed martial arts tournament will take place at Tashir Arena in Yerevan on September 26.

According to the press service of the event's organizers, ARMAT Fight Show (AFS) and ORION Fight Club (OFC), the tournament will be held under the general concept of "Armenia vs. the World." According to the source, some of Armenia's most talented and promising fighters will participate, and they will face opponents from Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, and other countries.

"The first ARMAT Fight Show (AFS) tournament was held recently, with one of its main objectives being the selection of the strongest and most promising fighters in Armenia. Athletes from various clubs and regions of the country gathered on one platform, and the strongest were given the opportunity to make a name for themselves." Now, ARMAT Fight Show (AFS), in partnership with ORION Fight Club (OFC), is creating a permanent professional platform for these athletes, where they can compete regularly, face strong international opponents, gain experience, and develop as professional fighters. Our goal isn't simply to hold tournaments. We want to create a fully-fledged environment in Armenia that will nurture new international-level fighters and future industry leaders," the statement reads.

One of the tournament's participants, according to the source, will be Suren Petrosyan, a former champion of "Our Business." Also competing in the cage will be Sergo Aleksanyan, winner of the first ARMAT Fight Show (AFS) Grand Prix; David Khachaturyan, a representative of the new generation of Armenian MMA who currently represents Team Lion Heart; and Hovhannes Nahabedyan, a decorated Muay Thai fighter who has transitioned to mixed martial arts. "The evening's guests are expected to include renowned fighters, representatives of sports, show business, media, and other fields. Eduard Vartanyan, Zhora Ayvazyan, Aren Akopyan, and many other renowned figures from the world of martial arts will be present. This will be a vibrant event, uniting top-tier sports, entertainment, media, and the atmosphere of an international tournament," the tournament organizers summarized.
