Deputies of the opposition “Strong Armenia” faction will allocate their bonuses to meet the needs of residents of Tigranashen village.

Arminfo.  Members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition “Strong Armenia” faction will donate the entire amount of the bonuses received on the occasion of Independence Day to the residents of Tigranashen to meet the local population’s most urgent needs in the name of a strong Armenia. The faction’s secretary, Tigran Abrahamyan, wrote about this on his Facebook page.

He noted that a detailed report would be presented publicly in the coming weeks. “Development, not surrender,” the parliamentarian emphasized.

It should be noted that the issue of the possible surrender or transfer of the village of Tigranashen to Azerbaijan as part of the border delimitation process has caused heated debate and public resonance in Armenia.  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that there are no Azerbaijani enclaves on the territory of Armenia; however, in the context of border delimitation, he referred to Tigranashen by its Azerbaijani name, Kyarki, which raised public concerns about its possible transfer. The parliamentary faction and the “Strong Armenia” party (led by Samvel Karapetyan) strongly oppose the possible transfer of the village.  Politicians declare that territorial concessions are unacceptable and propose their own development program for Tigranashen as an industrial and tourist center.
