Short-term rains with thunderstorms are expected in Armenia

Arminfo.  Short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in Armenia from September 19 to 23. The RA Ministry of Environment’s Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center reports.

At the same time, the source emphasizes that heavy rain is expected in some areas of Shirak, Lori and Tavush on September 19. The wind will be westerly, with gusts of up to  2-5 m/s; during thunderstorms, wind gusts may strengthen to 17-20 m/s.  On September 19, the air temperature will decrease by 2-4 degrees during the day and gradually rise by the same amount on September 21-23.

In Shirak Province, the daytime air temperature on September 19 will range from +18 to +23, and in Kotayk Province—from +18 to +28. In Gegharkunik, daytime temperatures are expected to range from +18 to +23, while in Lori Province, temperatures during the daytime will fluctuate between +18 and +22. In Tavush Province, the daytime air temperature is forecast to range from +19 to +25. In Aragatsotn Province, daytime temperatures are expected to range from +18 to +30. In Ararat Province, the daytime air temperature will range from +28 to +31. In Armavir, daytime temperatures are expected to range from +29 to +31. In Vayots Dzor Province, daytime temperatures will range from +18 to +31, and in Syunik Province—from +18 to +31.

In Yerevan, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible on September 19 and 20; during thunderstorms, wind gusts will strengthen to 16-19 m/s. From September 21 to

23, no precipitation is expected.  In the capital, the daytime air temperature on September 19 will be +29-+31, in the evening—+20-+22, and on the night of September 19-20—+17-+19.
