A 4-hectare plot of land was returned to the ownership of the Pushkino community in Lori Province.

Arminfo. As a result of the prosecutor’s intervention, a 4-hectare plot of land was returned to the ownership of the Pushkino community in Lori Province. This is stated in a release by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia.

According to the source, at the request of the Lori Province Prosecutor’s Office, a lease agreement concluded in substantial violation of the law was terminated, and a 4-hectare plot of land with a cadastral value of 2 million 710 thousand drams was returned to the ownership of the community.

As part of the criminal proceedings conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee, it was established that S.A. (Suren Avetisyan — ed.), who served as head of the Pushkino community in Lori Province from 1993 to 2017, personally participated in and was declared the winner of a tender for the 25-year lease of a 4-hectare plot of land owned by the community. At the same time, S.A. was the organizer of the tender and chairman of the tender commission, and under such circumstances, his participation in the tender contradicted the prohibition established by the law on public auctions.

As part of the criminal proceedings, on July 14, 2026, a decision was made not to initiate a criminal case against S.A. on the grounds that the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution had expired. At the same time, the materials of the criminal proceedings were obtained by the Lori Province Prosecutor’s Office to consider the issue of taking appropriate measures to protect the state’s interests. As a result of the investigation, taking into account that the person holding the position of head of the Pushkino community had been declared the winner of the tender for the lease of the land in substantial violation of the law, the Lori Province Prosecutor’s Office sent a request to the head of the Gyulagarak community to terminate the lease agreement.

Based on the request, the lease agreement was terminated. As a result of state registration at the Committee  of Cadastre, on September 11, 2026, the 4-hectare plot of land with a cadastral value of 2 million 710 thousand drams was returned to the ownership of the community Gyulagarak.
