On September 16, in Montreal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisogomonyan, as part of the delegation of the Armenian Presidency at the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP-17), participated in working meetings organized in the run-up to the Conference with the Executive Secretary of the Convention and other representatives of the Secretariat. The delegation of the Republic of Armenia included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia Hambardzum Matevosyan. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia reported this on September 17.

According to the source, the discussion focused on the progress of preparatory work for COP17, key negotiating and political aspects of the Conference, expected results, as well as areas requiring particularly heightened attention and high-level involvement from the Presidency.

Participants exchanged views on preparations for the Leaders' Summit and the High Ministerial Segment, the importance of ensuring representation at the highest level, and measures to intensify political dialogue on sensitive topics. The thematic program, including events planned for the Conference, was also discussed.
