Kobakhidze touched on the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire during the debate and made some curious remarks

Arminfo.  During a debate with political analyst Paata Zakareishvili, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze touched upon the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire and made some curious remarks.

"Are you speaking on behalf of the Armenian people? How did you decide that Armenia has healed this pain when a large-scale international campaign is being waged over the recognition of the genocide?" Kobakhidze asked the debate participant, according to quotes published by the media.

In response to Paata Zakareishvili's objection that the Armenian prime minister, who had been elected three times, was connected to this, Kobakhidze retorted: "What does the prime minister have to do with this when a large-scale international campaign demanding recognition of the genocide is being waged at the international level?".

Zakareishvili disagreed and said that there may be parties, such as the Armenian Revolutionary Federation "Dashnaktsutyun" (ARF), that put forward this demand, and moved on to the topic of the map that Nikol Pashinyan wears on his chest. "Have you seen the map that Pashinyan wears, where there is no Karabakh and no territorial claims?"

In response, Kobakhidze wondered what Nagorno-Karabakh had to do with the Armenian Genocide.

It should be noted that the Georgian authorities have not officially recognized the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
