Georgia’s Prime Minister, at a meeting with Armenia’s Interior Minister, emphasized Tbilisi’s commitment to strengthening peace and stability in the South Caucasus

ArmInfo.  The prospects for deepening Armenian-Georgian strategic cooperation were discussed at a meeting in Tbilisi on September 14 between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Armenian Minister of Internal Affairs (MIA) Arpine Sargsyan, who is in Georgia on a working visit.

According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the meeting also addressed issues of cooperation between the two countries in law enforcement. It was noted that the basis for strengthening and expanding the partnership is the Agreement on Combating Crime signed between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Armenia and Georgia. According to the source, the sides attached particular importance to joint programs implemented to combat drug trafficking, illegal migration and other types of crime.

In addition, the Armenian interior minister and the Georgian prime minister discussed developments taking place in the South Caucasus. Kobakhidze emphasized that Georgia firmly supports the strengthening of peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
