Head of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports: Armenia highly values the friendship and partnership established with Switzerland on the basis of mutual trust

ArmInfo.  RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan attended a reception dedicated to the National Day of the Swiss Confederation.  Deputy Minister Kristina Tataryan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Armenia Andrea Barbara Baumann, other officials and guests were present at the event, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports said in a statement.

As part of the reception, a photo exhibition entitled "We Are Water" was also presented.

Welcoming those present, Zhanna Andreasyan, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, congratulated the people of Switzerland on their National Day, wishing them peace, prosperity and continued progress. "Switzerland is rightly associated worldwide with strong traditions of democracy, the protection of human rights, the rule of law, the values of peace and sustainable development. Armenia shares these values and highly appreciates the friendship and partnership established with Switzerland on the basis of mutual trust," the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports said.

Zhanna Andreasyan attached particular importance to the official opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Bern and emphasized the enormous potential for cooperation, especially in the areas of education, science and innovation. "Education and science are not only driving forces of countries' development, but also an important means of building long-term ties between peoples. I am confident that expanding cooperation between the universities, research institutes, scientists and young people of Armenia and Switzerland will give new substance to bilateral relations," the minister noted.

Referring to the "We Are Water" exhibition stand opened as part of the event, Zhanna Andreasyan noted that for mountainous countries such as Armenia and Switzerland, water is not only a natural wealth but also a responsibility toward future generations. "It is symbolic that this initiative is being held on the eve of COP-17 in Yerevan, once again underscoring the importance of environmental responsibility, education, knowledge and international cooperation," Zhanna Andreasyan concluded.
