Armenia Intends to Ratify the Treaty on the Procedure for Organizing and Conducting an International Controlled Delivery

ArmInfo. Armenia intends to ratify a new treaty on the procedure for organizing and conducting an international controlled delivery. At a meeting on September 11, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia’s Defense and Security Committee issued a positive conclusion on the draft treaty of the CIS countries submitted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

Presenting the document, RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan noted that the document was signed on October 10, 2025, and entered into force on July 9, 2026. The treaty regulates cooperation between the competent authorities of the CIS countries in combating the illicit trafficking of weapons and other unlawful activities. The main objectives of the document are to identify and suppress channels for the illicit trafficking of drugs, weapons and other prohibited items; identify the organizers, accomplices and recipients of smuggled consignments; and conduct joint operational measures under the control of law enforcement agencies.

The committee petitioned the Council of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia to include the draft treaty on the agenda of the National Assembly session opening on September 14.
