Armenia’s Investigative Committee and China’s Ministry of Public Security Sign Memorandum of Understanding

ArmInfo. Chairman of Armenia’s Investigative Committee (IC) Artur Poghosyan and Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Wang Xiaohong signed a memorandum of understanding at a meeting in the Chinese city of Lianyungang.

As the press service of Armenia’s IC told ArmInfo, the memorandum aims to expand legal cooperation in combating transnational organized crime and to provide mutual assistance in verifying information about crimes and investigating criminal cases. In addition, according to the source, the parties plan to exchange experience and data on crime investigation methodology in the areas of terrorism, the economy, information and communication technologies, transnational organized crime, and other fields posing a serious threat to society.

"The document is also aimed at improving the professional qualifications of employees through joint educational programs, training sessions, mutual visits, and personnel exchanges between the agencies’ research and educational institutions. In addition, it provides for regular expert consultations and scientific-practical events on issues of mutual interest," the agency added.

According to the source, the heads of the agencies highly assessed the dynamics of their partnership and expressed confidence that the practical implementation of the memorandum’s provisions would bring the effectiveness of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries to a qualitatively new level.
