A temporary exhibition dedicated to Hovhannes Sharambeyan has opened at the National Gallery of Armenia.

ArmInfo. A temporary exhibition dedicated to painter, graphic artist and Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR Hovhannes (Vanik) Sharambeyan (1926–1986) has opened at the National Gallery of Armenia.

The exhibition brings together works from the collections of the National Gallery of Armenia, the Museum of Folk Art, the Dilijan Museum of Local History, the Artists’ Union, the Service for the Protection of Historical-Cultural Reserves-Museums and the Historical Environment, as well as from the artist’s family archive and private collections.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from September 10.

As stated in a message from the Green Rock Foundation, Hovhannes Sharambeyan left not only a distinctive artistic legacy, but also made a significant contribution to the preservation and popularization of national cultural values.

 

The exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth offers a new perspective on Sharambeyan’s artistic and museum activities>, the Foundation noted.

According to the source, the exhibition was organized with the support of Green Rock.  In addition, the Foundation and the National Gallery  signed a memorandum of cooperation, which provides for the organization of various joint cultural events and projects aimed at developing contemporary art in Armenia.
