Samvel Karapetyan has sued Nikol Pashinyan over insults

Arminfo.  The leader of the “Strong Armenia” bloc and businessman Samvel Karapetyan has filed a lawsuit against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, demanding that the court obligate Pashinyan to apologize to him on his Facebook page for insults uttered on May 29 of this year.

According to the content of the lawsuit posted in the Datalex judicial acts system, the Armenian prime minister must apologize during a live broadcast on his Facebook page, with the caption “I, Nikol Pashinyan, apologize to Samvel Karapetyan,” reading out the original text specified in the court ruling.

“The video and caption containing the apology must not include any additions or comments from the defendant or third parties, but only the text of the apology,” the lawsuit states.

In addition, according to the source, Karapetyan is demanding that Pashinyan pay 3,000,000 drams in compensation, as well as the amount of legal expenses consisting of the state duty and reasonable attorney’s fees.

It should be recalled that during this period, political forces in Armenia were conducting an election campaign ahead of the parliamentary elections in June. During it, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan repeatedly voiced insults against his political opponents, including Samvel Karapetyan.
