NKR State Minister: Artsakh authorities have begun political consultations with Armenia’s parliamentary and extra-parliamentary forces

Arminfo. The Artsakh authorities have begun political consultations with the parliamentary and extra-parliamentary political forces of the Republic of Armenia to determine which forces are planning to interact with the NKR authorities. Artsakh State Minister Nzhde Iskandaryan reported this on his Facebook page.

He pointed out that a new political reality was formed in Armenia following the June parliamentary elections. "This reality should also be reflected in the political approaches to the Artsakh issue and the activities of the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). In this regard, the Artsakh authorities have begun political consultations with the parliamentary and extra-parliamentary political forces of the Republic of Armenia," Iskandaryan stated.

As the NKR state minister explained, the purpose of the consultations is to clarify how Armenia’s political forces envision further activities and cooperation with the Artsakh authorities, what their position is on preserving the NKR’s state institutions and protecting the rights of the people of Artsakh, and how ready they are to take practical steps in these areas. Because, according to him, the question of ending or continuing the activities of the Artsakh authorities can no longer remain at the level of assumptions, individual statements or political silence.

"The reality that emerged after the 2026 elections requires clear political positions. If any political force believes that the activities of the Artsakh authorities should be terminated, then this position must be clearly and publicly formulated with political responsibility. If, on the contrary, political forces attach importance to the continuity of Artsakh’s state and political institutions, the protection of the rights of the people of the NKR and the preservation of the Artsakh issue on Armenia’s political agenda, then it is necessary to understand what kind of cooperation they are ready for and what specific steps they are prepared to take. The Artsakh authorities are ready for this open and political dialogue," Iskandaryan noted.

At the same time, he clarified that they are initiating this process not in order to predetermine the position of any political force. "On the contrary, we want to hear all sides and establish clear, understandable and responsible frameworks for cooperation under the new conditions. In the course of the political consultations, we expect clear answers to precisely these questions," the Artsakh state minister concluded.

It should be recalled that on September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan, under the pretext of an "anti-terrorist operation," launched large-scale aggression against Artsakh, which led to the complete de-Armenianization of the NKR. This was preceded by an almost 10-month blockade of the republic. As a result of the enemy aggression that began in the autumn of 2020 and ended with the complete ethnic cleansing of Artsakh in September 2023, more than 150 thousand Artsakh residents were deprived of their homeland and became refugees.

It should be noted that the authorities currently in power in Armenia are doing everything to consign the Artsakh issue to oblivion. During the election campaign in Syunik in May 2026, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated outright that "the Karabakh movement was the biggest mistake from the outset."
