ArmInfo. Armenia's transition to NATO standards will destroy the country, State Duma deputy and retired Lieutenant General Andrei Gurulev told RTVI. "To transition to NATO standards, someone needs to pay for it. And when they start paying, they will become even more dependent and slowly destroy their country," the parliamentarian reasoned.
Gurulev also said that "Armenia is currently completely under external control in all areas." "This includes the transition to NATO standards—they are striving for this, they are confidently moving towards it. Another question is that they will not succeed in transitioning to NATO standards. The country is poor, after all," the deputy believes.
The transition to a military salute in accordance with NATO standards, reported by Armenian media, "is not the first sign," Gurulev noted. "Mr. Nikol Pashinyan has long been trying to break away from Russia and, frankly, is leading his country to collapse. Many understand this perfectly well. But, nevertheless, today, unfortunately, Armenia is under external control, and the US Embassy there employs 2,300 people," the RTVI source added.
