Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs: Traffic will be restricted on a number of roads in the republic as part of the "Tour of Armenia" cycling race

ArmInfo. As part of the international cycling race “Tour of Armenia,” which will be held in the country for the first time from September 10 to 13, traffic will be restricted on a number of roads across the republic.

As the press service of Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told ArmInfo, entrances from the settlements of Kiran츠, Acharkut, Tsakhkavan, Berkaber, Sarigyugh, Sevkar and Achajur to the H-58 republican highway will be temporarily closed. According to the source, traffic will also be restricted at entrances to the settlements of Azatamut, Aknakhbyur, Khashtarak, Lusadzor, Yenokavan and Getahovit, as well as on Artsakhyan and Yerevanyan streets in the city of Ijevan. “In the Dilijan community, entrances to the settlements of Hovk, Gosh, Haghartsin and Teghut, the intersection near Lake Parz, entrances from Tbilisyan and Maxim Gorky streets in the city of Dilijan to the M-4 interstate highway, as well as entrances from Getapnya, Kalinina and Abovyan streets to the M-8 interstate highway will be closed,” the ministry reported.

In Lori Province, according to the source, traffic will be temporarily restricted on September 11 along the following routes: the Fioletovo-Margahovit-Lermontovo section of the M-8 highway; Yerevan Highway in the city of Vanadzor; Zoravar Andranik Street; from the Zoravar Andranik roundabout toward Tumanyan Street; from Tumanyan Square along Tumanyan Street; from the roundabout at the intersection of Moskovyan and Bosyan streets, across the bridge toward Lori Highway; the Vanadzor-Alaverdi section of the M-6 interstate highway; from 1st Pambak Street along the M-6 interstate highway toward 1st and 4th streets of the settlement of Vahagnadzor and up to the roundabout at the beginning of the city of Tumanyan; and the Stepanavan-Alaverdi-Odzun-Arevatsag section of the H-35 highway. In addition, the ministry reported, the section from Arevatsag toward Lori Berd; the H-33 Stepanavan-Alaverdi interstate highway; Ashot Yerkat Street in the city of Stepanavan — H-33; from the Stepanavan bridge to the M-3 highway; from Charents Street to the intersection with Eastern Street; and Bagramyan and Telman streets.

“On September 12, the competition will start in front of the House of Culture in the city of Martuni, Gegharkunik Province. On the same day, the M-4 Ijevan-Sevan-Yerevan highway in the direction from Gegharkunik Province to Kotayk Province will be temporarily closed up to the former traffic police post near Hrazdan, including intersections with adjoining roads. On this section, traffic will be organized in the opposite lane of the M-4 Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway.  Sections from the village of Kaghsi to the Hrazdan-Zovaber highway, including intersections with adjoining roads, will also be temporarily closed. In Tavush Province, the Dilijan turns on the M-4 interstate highway, Kamo, Maxim Gorky and Tbilisyan streets in the city of Dilijan, as well as the road leading to Lake Parz, will be closed,” Armenia’s MIA stated.

In addition, according to the source, stopping and parking vehicles will be prohibited on Vazgen Sargsyan Street from 00:00 on September 12 until 23:00 on September 13. “From 20:00 on September 12 until 23:00 on September 13, stopping and parking vehicles will also be prohibited in the following sections: Republic Square; from Republic Square toward Tigran Mets Avenue and Khanjyan Street; Agatangeghos Street; Grigor Lusavorich Street; Argishti Street; the Hrazdan Gorge; Uruguay Square; Paronyan Street; Leo Street; from the intersection of Mashtots Avenue and Sayat-Nova Avenue toward Victory Bridge; Saryan Street; King Pap Street; from Grigor Lusavorich Street toward Victory Bridge, in the section near Surb Sargis Church, and from Victory Bridge toward Grigor Lusavorich Street, in the section near Surb Sargis Church,” Armenia’s MIA concluded.
