The Catholicos of All Armenians Discussed the Challenges Facing the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Armenian People with Representatives of the “Churches for Middle East Peace” Organization

ArmInfo.  Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, at a meeting in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin with a delegation from the organization Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP), addressed the current challenges facing the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church (AAC) and the Armenian people, expressing gratitude to the organization for its support.

As reported by the press office of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), the meeting featured a presentation on the organization’s activities aimed at establishing peace in the Middle East and supporting Christian communities. The Catholicos of All Armenians highly praised the organization’s activities, particularly its efforts to strengthen peace, protect the rights of Christian communities, and develop cooperation among Churches.

In this context, Garegin II touched upon the ongoing conflicts in the world, and particularly in the Middle East, and the humanitarian crisis caused by them. Continuing the discussion, His Holiness also raised the issues of protecting the rights of forcibly displaced Artsakh Armenians, the return of Armenian prisoners held in Baku, and the preservation of Artsakh’s Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage.

During the conversation, the members of the delegation reaffirmed their support for the Armenian Church and expressed their readiness to continue efforts to raise awareness in American church and public circles about the hardships faced by the Armenian people, as well as about the AAC’s mission. The meeting also discussed the preservation of the Armenian presence and Christian heritage in the Middle East, as well as the challenges facing the region’s Armenian communities. In this regard, the sides emphasized the importance of joint efforts by the Churches in the name of peace and justice, as well as ensuring a dignified and secure life for peoples.
