ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia, taking into account recent speculation regarding the number of casualties in the 44-day war, considers it necessary to confirm that 3,833 people were killed in the 44-day war of 2020, of which 3,755 were military personnel and 78 were civilians. This was stated in a statement by the Investigative Committee.
According to the source, the whereabouts of another 191 people are unknown, of which 172 are military personnel and 19 are civilians. The agency
noted that the number of victims announced by RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan was the result of confusion, as stated by the presidential administration.
"We strongly urge you to refrain from any speculation regarding the number of victims and base your conclusions only on the official data published by the Investigative Committee," the Investigative Committee stated in a statement, although it is unclear to whom this appeal is addressed, given that the RA President himself voiced the figure of 4,800 dead.
