A land plot of approximately 223 hectares has been returned to the ownership of the Goris community in the Syunik region, according to the prosecutor`s office

ArmInfo. As a result of the prosecutor's office's intervention, a land plot of approximately 223 hectares was returned to the Goris community of Armenia's Syunik region. This was stated in a statement by the supervisory body.

As noted in the statement, the Syunik regional prosecutor's office, as part of its authority to initiate proceedings in defense of state interests, verified the legality of the Goris community's documents in Syunik region granting land plots, both community and state-owned, to legal entities or individuals with the right to lease or free use. The investigation revealed that a land parcel of approximately 184 hectares located in the Goris community was transferred to an LLC under a 25-year lease agreement signed on January 31, 2007.

Based on a petition from the prosecutor's office, following measures taken by the competent authorities of the Goris community municipality, the Cadastre Committee terminated and returned to the community's possession a land parcel of approximately 184 hectares, of which 124 hectares are arable land and 60 hectares are pastures, with a cadastral value of 132,780,000 drams.

The investigation also revealed that the same LLC had seized 38.5 hectares of arable land with a cadastral value of 22,909,000 drams. Based on the petition of the prosecutor's office, as a result of measures taken by the competent authorities of the Goris municipality, this land plot was also returned to the possession of the community.
