The National Leader of the Turkmen people participated to the World Equestrian Games and the Akhal-Teke horse beauty competition

ArmInfo. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid a visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where he attended the World Equestrian Games and the Akhal-Teke horse beauty competition.

At Düsseldorf International Airport, the National Leader of the Turkmen people was warmly welcomed by official representatives of Germany and Turkmenistan.

Hero-Arkadag then proceeded to the Peelbergen equestrian complex in the town of Kronenberg.

At the entrance to the equestrian complex, a colorful literary and musical performance dedicated to Akhal-Teke horses was staged.

Following the conclusion of the festive programme, an open meeting of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding took place.

Speakers at the meeting included Head of the European Association for Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Marian Weltevreden, Commissioner of the Province of Limburg of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Emil Roemer, Minister of State of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Jan Peter Balkenende, Head of the European and North American Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations Ioannis Maronitis, as well as the Head of the Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association of the Kingdom of Spain, member of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association and Honoured Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan Blanca de Toledo.

During their speeches, the participants emphasized the historical and cultural significance of the Akhal-Teke horse, its role in preserving and promoting Turkmenistan’s national heritage, and the importance of international cooperation in the field of Akhal-Teke horse breeding and equestrian sports. It was noted that the events held in Kronenberg contribute to strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue between nations, expanding cooperation between international associations and further promoting Akhal-Teke horses around the world.

The speech by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was then heard with great attention.

Expressing his confidence that preserving the glorious past of the Akhal-Teke horses and ensuring a worthy future for it is a shared task and responsibility, Hero-Arkadag emphasized that all the necessary conditions for this have now been created.

As noted, the first priority is to expand the participation of Akhal-Teke horses in international equestrian sport.

In addition, the National Leader of the Turkmen people highlighted the need to invest in veterinary science and to establish international research grants for the study of the unique genome.

It was also proposed to consider an initiative to establish a unified genetic bank for Akhal-Teke horses and an International Fund for Akhal-Teke horses.

In conclusion, Hero-Arkadag warmly thanked the authorities of the city of Kronenberg for their hospitality and warm welcome, as well as for their significant contribution to the successful organization of the events.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan then arrived at the venue of the “Iň owadan bezelen at” (The Most Beautifully Decorated Horse) competition.

Following the jury’s decision, the winner of the world championship was announced at the beauty competition. The black horse Yindam, owned by A. Martinez from France, came to the arena.

Following this, an awards ceremony for the World Championship winners, as well as a concert, took place at the “Maya Delorez” arena at the Pilbergen equestrian complex.

The floor was then given to the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

Noting that the World Championship dedicated to the Akhal-Teke horses is comleting, Hero-Arkdag emphasized that this event holds a special place in the history of global horse breeding.

The exhibition of horse accessories and Turkmen carpets dedicated to the art of horse breeding, as well as a trade fair, were held at a high organizational level.

Performances by Turkmen artists and the world-renowned “Galkynyş” National Equestrian Games Group created a particularly festive atmosphere.

Addressing the winners and prize-winners, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that their achievements bear witness to their boundless love for the Akhal-Teke horse and the immense efforts made, wishing everyone further success and victories in their future endeavors.

Hero-Arkadag then announced that, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the winner of this year’s competition would be awarded the main prize – the Grand Prix in the “World Champion of Akhal-Teke Horses” category – and congratulated the owner of this magnificent horse on this remarkable victory.

After once again expressing his sincere thanks to all those who took part in the celebrations, Hero-Arkadag wished the international Akhal-Teke equestrian community unity, prosperity and further victories.

In a festive atmosphere, the winner of the “2026 World Champion among Akhal-Teke Racehorses” competition was announced.

Furthermore, as part of the World Championship for Akhal-Teke Horses, the results were announced of the international creative competition for the artistic portrayal of the beauty of horses, in which sculptors, painters, jewellers, carpet weavers and photographers took part.

The winners of the international competition expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the high appraisal of their work, assuring that they would continue to devote all their efforts, knowledge and skill to further enhancing the global reputation of Akhal-Teke horses. Special thanks were extended to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, for his initiative to hold such a reputable international competition and for organizing it at a high level.

Then, as a symbol of friendship and mutual respect between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a Friesian horse was presented as a gift to Hero-Arkadag.

Following the awards ceremony, a concert was organized to mark the successful organization of the World Equestrian Championships and the Akhal-Teke horse beauty competition.

Hero-Arkadag then invited the high-ranking guests present at the events to the celebrations marking the 35^th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and departed from the venue.

Shortly after, the National Leader of the Turkmen people arrived in the German city of Düsseldorf, from where he departed for his homeland.

As part of the World Equestrian Championships and the Akhal-Teke horse beauty competition, an exhibition was organized at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre in Kronenberg, dedicated to the national art of horse breeding, the culture-decorative and applied arts of the Turkmen people, as well as European horse-breeding traditions.
