The Armenian Foreign Minister held talks with the President of Latvia.

ArmInfo. Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs and Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan discussed expanding cooperation between Armenia and Latvia at a meeting in Riga on September 7.

According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Mirzoyan and Rinkēvičs exchanged views on specific opportunities for developing partnership between the two countries, emphasizing the need to expand trade and economic cooperation. They also touched on mechanisms for diversifying economic ties and expanding access for Armenian products to European markets.

The agenda for deepening the partnership between Armenia and the EU was also discussed in detail. Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia highly values the continued support of EU member states, including Latvia, in Armenia's advancement of the European integration agenda.

The interlocutors exchanged views on regional developments. Mirzoyan presented the Latvian President with new opportunities for economic development and interdependence opened by the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including work on implementing the TRIPP project.

The meeting also discussed cooperation between Armenia and Latvia within international organizations, including the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, which will be held in Yerevan in October.
