The name of the new French Ambassador to Armenia has been announced

ArmInfo. The French Embassy in Armenia has announced the name of the new head of the French diplomatic mission in Yerevan. According to the announcement, Florian Escudier, who has considerable diplomatic experience, will head the embassy.

"We welcome our newly appointed Ambassador, Mr. Florian Escudier, as he assumes his duties," the embassy said in a Facebook post, accompanied by a photo of the new French Ambassador to Armenia.

The newly appointed Ambassador also announced his mission, posting a photo in front of the French Embassy in Armenia.

"How wonderful to receive such a warm welcome in Armenia under the beautiful September sun. I look forward to meeting and getting to know more Armenians." "I am proud to soon contribute to the love story between France and Armenia," Escudier wrote on his Twitter page (X).

Florian Escudier succeeds Olivier Decotigny, who served as France's Ambassador to Armenia from July 2023 to the summer of 2026.

According to open sources, from May 2017 to August 2020, Florian Escudier served as Deputy Director for Strategic Affairs and Cybersecurity at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. From August 2020 to May 2022, he was a diplomatic adviser to Florence Parly, Minister of the Armed Forces. From October 2022 to May 2023, he was Secretary General of the States General for Diplomacy at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From April 2023, he served as Chief of service, Assistant Secretary General for Analysis and Strategy at the French Foreign Ministry.
