European Heritage Days will be held in Armenia on September 12-13

ArmInfo. For the 26th consecutive year, the Republic of Armenia, represented by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, is participating in the European Heritage Days program, which this year is being held under the theme "Heritage and Climate Risks."

According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, this year's Days will be held on September 12-13. Institutions (museums, libraries, etc.) that have joined the program will welcome all interested parties, including schoolchildren and students, free of charge.

Various events will be organized in accordance with the theme of the day: exhibitions, lectures, interactive quizzes, excursions to historical and cultural monuments, concerts, literary and musical morning and evening events, educational programs, discussion meetings, lectures, etc. It should be noted that this year the penitentiary institutions of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia also joined the program, the activities of which are intended for persons deprived of liberty and are aimed at their socialization in the context of various cultural events. Let us recall that the European Heritage Days program was officially approved by the Council of Europe in 1991, and in 1999 the European Union joined it, and the initiative began to be implemented under the slogan "Europe: Common Heritage". More than 70,000 cultural events are held annually throughout Europe, aimed at raising public awareness of European heritage, emphasizing its uniqueness and diversity, as well as the importance of its preservation.
