Graduates of the world`s leading universities will be able to receive deferments and exemptions from military service, according to the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of the RA

ArmInfo. Citizens of the Republic of Armenia who received education in universities included in the TOP-50 list of the academic ranking of the best higher education institutions in the world (http://www.shanghairanking.com/) may be exempt from compulsory military service. The press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia reported this, citing a government decision.

According to the source, a deferment from conscription for compulsory military service is granted for full-time study and work in the Republic of Armenia for at least three years after completing undergraduate (specialist, integrated program), master's, or doctoral programs at institutions included in the Academic Ranking of World Universities.

To obtain a deferment from conscription for compulsory military service, an application must be submitted to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports from April 1 to May 1 or from October 1 to November 1, along with the required documents., the department said in a statement.
