ArmInfo. The implementation of the "Trump Route" project in Armenia will allow the deployment of US military infrastructure directly near the border with Iran. This was stated by Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Alexey Shevtsov, quoted by RIA Novosti.
He spoke at the session "CSTO - SCO: Security Space" of the Eastern Economic Forum.
"The so-called 'Trump Route'" "Throughout Armenia... this allows the West and the Americans to deploy their troops or private military companies, intelligence infrastructure, directly on Armenian territory and in close proximity to the Iranian border," Shevtsov said.
On August 8, 2025, following a meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev with US President Donald Trump, the Armenian side agreed to cooperate with Washington and third parties to create the "Trump Route to the Pacific Partnership" (TRIPP). This route envisions unblocking transport links between the mainland of Azerbaijan and its exclave Nakhchivan Autonomous Region through Armenian territory.
