ArmInfo. The preventive measure against Vahagn Chakhalyan, founder of the Kamk socio-political initiative, has been changed: he has been placed under administrative supervision instead of house arrest. This decision was made at a court hearing on September 3 by Judge Karen Farkhoyan.
Vahagn Chakhalyan's house arrest expires on September 4, and the judge decided not to extend it, replacing house arrest with administrative supervision. The court's decision is based on Chakhalyan having two minor children and being the sole breadwinner in his family. Chakhalyan is required to report to the Probation Service once a week and not change his place of residence without notifying the body conducting the proceedings. However, the ban on leaving the country remains in effect.
As a reminder, Chakhalyan is a defendant in the case against Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan and 17 others. They are charged with terrorism and plotting to usurp power.
