


ArmInfo. Although the number of road traffic accidents (RTAs) and resulting injuries has increased in the republic, the number of fatalities resulting from them has simultaneously decreased. This was stated in a statement by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
The ministry attributed this to the efforts of Patrol Service officers, who, according to them, strive to reduce the risks and possible consequences of road accidents, continue to take targeted measures to ensure road safety.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also reported that both the number of injured and fatalities as a result of road accidents has decreased in Yerevan.
In the first half of 2026, patrol service officers drew up reports on 523,377 administrative violations, which is 10% more than the figure recorded in the same period last year.
It is added that as a result of targeted patrol measures, 11,090 cases of drunk driving were recorded in the republic in the first half of 2026, which is 15% more than in the same period. Last year.
Strict enforcement of speeding is also a priority for the Patrol Service. In the first half of 2026, 60,723 speeding incidents were recorded, a 23% increase compared to the same period last year. As a result of comprehensive measures, the number of cases of driving without a driver's license, compulsory motor insurance, with tinted side windows, and without a vehicle inspection has decreased.
