ArmInfo. Russian President Vladimir Putin declared his readiness to withdraw the 102nd Russian base stationed in Gyumri "even tomorrow."

"This especially applies to the base. If Armenia believes that a Russian military base is unnecessary, we will leave even tomorrow. Is Armenia ready for this? Please do. We will not impose anything on anyone. And if the Armenian people want some kind of military 'Russian wing' nearby, we will stay, work, and cooperate," the Russian leader said in a conversation with journalists following the SCO summit and a series of bilateral talks in Bishkek.

The Russian military base is stationed in Armenia in accordance with a 1995 interstate treaty. In 2010, amendments were made to the document, according to which the period of her stay in the territory of Armenia was extended from the initial 25 years to 49 years, until 2044.
