ArmInfo. Ahead of the new school year and given the increase in passenger and vehicle traffic, South Caucasus Railways reminds residents of Armenia of the need to strictly observe safety regulations on the railway infrastructure.
"Particular attention should be paid to children. Railway tracks are not a place for play, walking, or entertainment. Crossing the tracks is permitted only in specially designated areas, observing safety requirements. Parents whose children attend schools located near railway tracks are advised to regularly conduct educational talks with them and remind them of the dangers of being on tracks, railway bridges, near rolling stock, and other railway infrastructure," the company said in a statement.
At the initiative of South Caucasus Railways, a course on railway safety has been included in the school curriculum. However, children's knowledge requires constant reinforcement, so parents play a crucial role in shaping responsible behavior in schoolchildren.
SCR also calls on drivers to observe the rules for crossing railroad crossings. Cross the tracks only at designated locations, carefully observe road signs and traffic lights, and follow the instructions of railroad crossing controllers. "Railway safety depends on everyone. Following simple rules helps preserve life and health—especially that of children," the SCR statement emphasized.
