Former MP: Pashinyan may hand over Armenia`s second president to Azerbaijan along with Armenian lands

According to him, the reason for such speculation was the Azerbaijani side's reaction to the arrest of the second president of Armenia. "Seeing how Azerbaijan was inspired by the arrest of Robert Kocharyan, presenting it in the media as a step forced upon them by their victory in the war, I do not rule out that, along with the lands demanded by the enemy, Pashinyan will also hand over to Azerbaijan the first president of Artsakh, the second president of Armenia." "Pashinyan's overt political and moral-psychological position allows for this prediction," Hakobyan wrote.

In this regard, he recalled how he personally witnessed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's cautious and fearful behavior toward Kocharyan during the trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Aliyev, and Kocharyan. "And I think this will be one of Aliyev's main demands in the near future. That's all," the former MP concluded.

As a reminder, on August 25, National Security Council officers conducted searches in the apartment of Levon Kocharyan, an MP from the opposition Armenia faction and the son of second President Robert Kocharyan, and in companies affiliated with the Kocharyan family. Robert Kocharyan and Sedrak Kocharyan were then detained and taken to the Anti-Corruption Committee for questioning. However, Robert Kocharyan's condition, which had been following heart surgery for about two weeks, deteriorated sharply and he was hospitalized. That same day, Robert Kocharyan was charged with large-scale money laundering, abuse of office, and accepting a large bribe. Nine other individuals were also charged in the case. On August 27, the Anti-Corruption Court ordered Kocharyan's pretrial detention for two months.
