


ArmInfo. The COP-17 conference, which will take place in Yerevan in October 2026, is one of the most important events on the global environmental agenda. This was stated by RA Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan, speaking at the conference "COP- 17: Armenia's Path to the Biodiversity Conference," as quoted by the ministry's press service.
The minister presented Armenia's role as host and chair of the Conference, the strategic priorities of the presidency, and progress in ensuring the inclusiveness of the upcoming event. It was emphasized that the conference, which will be held in Yerevan in October 2026, is one of the most important events on the global environmental agenda. Representatives from 196 parties to the Convention will participate, and COP-17 will be preceded by a leaders' summit.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Robert Abisogomonian presented the work carried out by the ministry and diplomatic agencies in preparing for the conference and coordinating the documents being developed.
