ArmInfo. A Polish TV channel's report on repressions in Azerbaijan and the dearmenization of Artsakh provoked a nervous reaction from the Azerbaijani authorities. Polish Ambassador Pawel Radomski was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, during the meeting, a strong protest was expressed to the diplomat over the fact that a segment aired on August 26, 2026, on the Eastern Express program of the Polish public broadcaster TVP (TVP World) contained "biased, biased, and completely unacceptable allegations" directed "against the Azerbaijani state and the country's leadership." Dissatisfaction was also expressed over the "provocative behavior" of the program's host. In this regard, a protest note was delivered to the Polish side.
Furthermore, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry accused Polish TVP of disseminating information that distorts reality, as Baku has become accustomed to the narratives concocted and disseminated by Baku's propaganda through hysteria.
Furthermore, the dissemination of "negative" content against Azerbaijan on the Polish government-funded public broadcaster was deemed "an unfriendly step, contrary to the spirit of partnership between the two countries and capable of seriously damaging bilateral relations." The Polish side was called on to take immediate and effective measures to stop such "provocative campaigns directed against Azerbaijan."
The description of the video report on YouTube states that Azerbaijan is becoming an increasingly influential power in the South Caucasus, but, according to Human Rights Watch, repression within the country is intensifying.
"Journalists from Abzas Media, Meydan TV, and Toplum TV are being arrested and given lengthy prison sentences. Political opponents, activists, and researchers are also being persecuted as the space for organized dissent continues to shrink. The campaign is also increasingly extending beyond Azerbaijan: critics living abroad are being convicted in absentia," the statement notes. The statement also touches on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the 44-day war around Artsakh, Armenia's capitulation, and the de- Armenization of Artsakh.
In this regard, she instructed that work be continued to improve the platform, taking into account the issues and suggestions raised during the discussion, and to ensure the full implementation of the necessary functions.
